Ask & it will be Given to You!

When Jesus was teaching His disciple regarding prayer, He said, "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find;  knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened".  In Psalms 2:8 we read "Ask of me, and the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession".  When the Lord appeared to King Solomon, he did not ask the Lord for riches but for wisdom.  In our daily prayer, let us not just ask for our daily needs, but also ask for souls.  Jesus said, "we need to be persistent in our prayer life".  Ask by faith and you will receive.  My prayer is "Lord Save India".  God, by His grace, is using GFI miraculously to win souls for Christ.  Testimonies from the mission field thrills my heart, the prayer that you make for India will not go in vain, it will produce fruit in many folds.  In your generous giving, God will reward you.  Gospel for India's work is by faith, we have seen God's miraculous hand in many situations in the year 2003 and I would like to thank and praise God for it.

GFI Prarthana Bhavan (GFI Church) at Chottepur village is located in Pathankot, Punjab.  God is doing great things in this church.  Pastor S. Thankaraj and family are serving as the missionaries in this village.  The Lord heard our prayers and GFI was able to construct a church building at this place.  Gospel Meetings, fasting and prayer for 21 days was held in the month of October in 2003.  God did great things.  13 people obeyed the Lord in a water baptism.  Let us praise God for His marvelous work!  A Hindu woman who had a stomach disease went to see many doctors.  She even tried a witch doctor, but none of them could heal her.  The Lord used Pastor Thankaraj to pray for her and Jesus healed her.  She is now a faithful member of his church.

GFI started a new mission field at Galadi, Punjab, on the board of Pakistan.  GFI appointed Pastor Ensoant Masih and his wife as the new missionaries.  They have two children.  Pastor Mashih graduated from GFI Bible Institute last year and he is very active and has great zeal for the Lord.  People in this village are predominately Hindus.  Currently there are 12 believers in the church.  Let us pray that many new souls will be added to the church and also for God's protection over the Pastor and his family as well as the church members.

GFI appointed Pastor Daniel Thomas as the new Principal of GFI Bible Institute.  He completed his Bachelor of Divinity degree from Serampore Theological Seminary.  It is a great blessing to have Pastor Daniel Thomas as the Principal of GFI Bible Institute.  He is a man of vision and has great plans to expand the work there.  Let us pray for him and the entire staff and student body of GFI Bible Institute.

Currently, 13 students are enrolled in GFI Bible Institute.  After graduation, we would like to send them into the mission field.  Pray that every year many sponsors may come forward so that we can send many new missionaries out into the field.  The GFI Convention for 2004 will be from April 8-14.  Please pray for my journey.  Pray for the blessing of the convention, so that many people may hear the gospel and receive deliverance in their lives.  I would like to give all the glory and honor to our Lord for His marvelous work.  Let us, by faith, ask the Lord to save India. God Bless You.

Lift Up Your Eyes

In John 4:35 Jesus said, “Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”  We need to lift up our eyes to see the perishing world.  When we visit India, we could see thousands of people everywhere and if we lift up our eyes and look at them, we could see them as lost souls.  Sometimes Christians excuse themselves from witnessing by saying that their family or friends are not ready to believe.  Jesus, however, makes it clear that around us a continual harvest waits to be reaped.  Don’t let Jesus find you making excuses.  Look around…  You will find people ready to hear God’s Word.

Pray for eyes to recognize someone who is already ripe for harvest.~ Joaine E. Yoder

Lord, lay some soul upon my heart, and love that soul though me:  And may I nobly do my part to win that soul for Thee.~ Tucker

Let us have a heart of missions, when Jesus looked at the multitude, His heart was moved with compassion.  GFI’s vision is reaching this multitude of people by sending native missionaries to the villages that never heard of Jesus.  You and I may not be able to go to these villages, but we can lift our eyes and pray for this multitude and ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send our workers into His harvest field.  Currently we have 25 missionaries and we want to send more each year, we need your prayer and support.  I believe, if we pray according to the commandment of Jesus, we will see great miracles.  Let us mobilize people to pray and support mission work.

Our role in the evangelization of India

India at a glance:

  • Over 1 Billion people

  • Less than 3% Christians

  • Less than 1% Christians in North India

Gospel reached India almost 2000 years ago, but still 97% out of 1 Billion people do not known Christ.  It is our responsibility to bring the light of Christ to the people who are not worshipping the living God.  The Great commission given by our Lord to all disciples is; "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.   He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved:  but he that believeth not, shall be damned."  (Mark 16:15-16).  If the disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ will use their God given gifts and skills and take the responsibility of proclaiming the gospel to India, than we will see India being evangelized in our generation.  With prayer and fellowship, let us make the Great Commission of our Lord practical in our life.  Let the people of India hear the voice of God and receive salvation.  May the Lord help everyone in fulfilling this vision in the evangelization of India.

                                                                            Yours in His Service,
