GFI MISSION SCHOOL
Recent world
wide survey indicates that a country’s literacy rate-especially the female
literacy rate- is the key indicator of the quality of life. The literacy rate
has a direct connection to both life expectancy and infant mortality. More than
60% of North Indian population is considered illiterate, with the female
literacy being extremely poor in the North Indian villages.
GFI has one school in
a remote interior village, in Punjab, with
this
particular village surrounded by ten other villages. It is indeed a heart
breaking sight to watch the small kids walk several kilometers to reach the
school. We have no conveyance so far. However, God has given us a
wonderful privilege to educate and disciple the children to grow in a
spiritually and morally nurturing environment. We also maintain good
relationship with the parents in order to guide them to the way of salvation.
We wait upon the Lord for His special blessings, so that we can start more
schools in different villages where not even a lower primary school exists.
